TWO men have been injured after an assault near a Yateley pub involving a group of up to ten people.
Police are investigating the incident, which took place in Reading Road, near the Dog and Partridge pub, between 8.30pm and 8.45pm.
The victims, who are both in their 20s, were said to be walking from Manor Park Drive towards the village green in Yateley.
They have gone through the alley way that leads into the grounds of St Peter's Church, where they encountered the group of around eight people, both male and female, and an altercation has taken place.
One of the victims was taken to hospital with cuts that are described as not life threatening and the other received an injury to his chin that did not require hospital treatment.
Police have not made any arrests but say enquiries are ongoing.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Rob Tiller said: “Officers will be in the area carrying out enquiries and we will also be carrying out extra patrols, so if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to them.”
