DRIVERS will face diversion and delays across Basingstoke this year as various roadworks begin.
Across the borough, roads are about to be repaired, potholes patched up and water and electric works carried out.
Here’s a round-up of what to expect on the roads in and around Basingstoke in 2021.
January 11 -January 13
BT works will force drivers to take a diversion route.
Tunworth Road will close whilst Openreach fit new equipment, the route will add an extra 23 minutes on to your journey.
January 28 - February 1
Vodafone works will cause Crockford Lane to close.
Drivers will take a diversion route on Hanmore road which will add 10 minutes to their journey time.
February 1- August 2
Sherfield Road will be closed for street works and a 11-mile diversion route that takes 25 minutes will be in place.
February 22 - February 27
T-Mobile work will be undertaken, and a short five minute diversion will be in place by Winchester Road Roundabout.
March 21 - March 26
Carriageway resurfacing will lead to a road closure by Hampshire County Council.
The diversion route will take around 10 minutes and will begin on Sheldon's Road, Hook.
March 25 – March 30
Carriageway resurfacing road closure by Hampshire County Council
A 35-mile diversion will be in force from Dix Hill Cottage, Tadley.
The diversion route will add an extra hour onto motorists’ journeys.
