A man from Hook who assaulted two people at McDonald's has been given a community order.
Michael James Keens, of Hazel Coppice, pleaded guilty to assaulting Bikalpa Gurung and Jamie Eccott at the restaurant in Basingstoke town centre.
He further admitted damaging a moped box belonging to Marcio Cantarutti in the attack on October 27, 2020.
Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, the 30-year-old was given a 12-month community order.
He must undergo treatment for his alcohol dependency, participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay a total of £70 in compensation and costs of £20.
A teenager from Basingstoke has admitted racially assaulting a person.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, committed the offence in March 2020.
He also admitted damaging the window and front door of a property in Kempshott last May, and damaging a Ford KA in April.
The boy pleaded not guilty to stealing a bicycle in Basingstoke last August, and will stand trial on that charge in March.
He has been released on unconditional bail.
A man from Worting has denied possession an imitation firearm.
Andrew John Clarke, of Tweedsmuir Close, is charged with possession the blank firing pistol in Grafton Way on January 6.
The 35-year-old pleaded not guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, and has been remanded into custody pending the summary trial.
A Basingstoke teenager has admitted drug-driving.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found driving a Yamaha Aerox motorbike in Winklebury on July 14, 2020.
It was found that he was over the legal limit for THC, a breakdown product for cannabis.
Five days later, he was again caught driving his bike whilst over the limit, this time on Roman Road.
The teenager pleaded guilty to both charges and was referred to the Hampshire Youth Offender Panel, for a four-month contract to be drawn up.
He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.
A Wiltshire man who was caught driving at over 90 miles per hour on the M3 has avoided being disqualified from driving.
Nathan John H Flower, from Southwick near Trowbridge, was found guilty of speeding back in March, after being caught driving his Peugeot at 92 miles per hour on the M3 at junction 7 in October 2019.
He also failed to respond to a notice of intended prosecution from Hampshire Police.
Magistrates decided not to disqualify the 33-year-old by the totting up procedure, because of the impact that would have on his family.
Court documents show that they took into consideration that Flower would lose his job in the event of disqualification, and is the main bread winner for his family.
Additionally, it would impact upon a co-worker who would not be able to work if Flower did not work.
Instead, Flower was given a £460 fine, whilst being ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £46 and court costs of £85.
He was given six penalty points on his licence after failing to respond to a notice of intended prosecution on a dismissed second offence which took place on February 13, 2020.
A woman from Basingstoke has been banned from driving for three years after being caught behind the wheel whilst over double the drink-drive limit.
Dawn Elizabeth Varty, of Lyn Court, was caught driving her Mini Cooper on November 11 when she had 75 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath; the legal limit is 35.
The 51-year-old, who pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, was banned from driving for three years and fined £120.
She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £20.
