In times of uncertainty, people turn to brands they can trust. And this is reflected in the record-breaking numbers of people now reading The Gazette.
Our weekly readership in print and online has grown from 60,000 people in January 2017 to 234,000 people - an increase of 290 per cent.
This shows that there is a clear demand for public interest journalism that people can trust - especially in an era of misinformation on social media sites.
We were honoured to be shortlisted for a British Journalism Award for our investigation into the Camrose football scandal last month. While we didn’t win, it was a brief moment of recognition for the team who has worked exceptionally hard to bring this matter to light.
It is a privilege to bring you your local news each week and we feel honoured to be in the position of the community’s watchdog, holding those in power to account and asking difficult questions on your behalf.
As a way to say thank you to our loyal readers, we have set up a Reader Rewards club where digital subscribers and home delivery customers can enjoy discounts from brand-named retailers (I’m not allowed to name them, but trust me, they are good!).
To find out more, contact 0800 953 0227 and visit www.newsqestrewards.co.uk.
You never know what 2021 might bring, but we can promise we will be there to tell the story.
Thank you for your support.
