Police have issued a lighthearted plea to the public to remember to follow Covid restrictions today, as much of the south is under a blanket of snow.
As Basingstoke residents are waking up to a thick layer of the white stuff, police are expected to be patrolling to ensure residents are adhering to restrictions.
One police force has put out an appeal for the public to heed the official restrictions - despite the wonderful winter weather.
A spokesman for Salisbury Police has written: "Do you want to build a snowman?
"Don't forget only 1 snowman from another household may mix outside and all snowballs must be thrown from over 2 meters away.
"On a serious note, officers and all emergency services and key workers will be working very hard today to keep you safe.
"Only venture out on essential journeys. Most roads are covered in snow and may soon turn to ice.
"Any vehicles on the roads must clear ALL snow before driving and have clear visibility.
"We need to all Keep our social distancing no matter how tempting it is. Now let's see your snowman pictures."
While Salisbury is over the border in Wiltshire, it is thought the advice will be standardized across England as the country remains in lockdown measures.
The Gazette has contacted Hampshire Constabulary for comment.
