A major milestone has been achieved as the five millionth vaccine has been administered at Hampshire Court Hotel.
The Basingstoke hotel has been set up as a vaccination hub to oversee the roll-out of the coronavirus inoculations.
It opened in late December with volunteers assisting as the first dose of the vaccine is given to the most vulnerable groups.
And now, the North Hampshire vaccination team has been involved in a major milestone - administering the five millionth vaccine today (January, December 24).
Writing to The Gazette, a spokesman said: "A milestone was achieved for the North Hampshire vaccination teams today, a combined effort from all six Primary Care Networks across the region.
"Whitewater Health practice is a leading part of these teams. The UK hit a total of 5 million vaccines delivered, and that 5 millionth vaccine was delivered at the Hampshire Court Hotel.
"Vaccine campaigns like this are truly multidisciplinary. They are run by Nurses, Ops Teams, GPs, ANPs, HCAs, Pharmacists, Practice Managers, Volunteers, CCG teams, Runners, Paramedics, Marshals, IT specialists, Care Coordinators, Call Handlers, Cleaners and even those lovely people who deliver us the boxes of vaccine and all the kit!
"They could only happen with our colleagues back at the practices working ‘their socks off’ doing the day job and looking after our patients."
