TWO Basingstoke men found with kitchen knives in public have been fined.
Richard James Evans, of Cleaver Road, South Ham, was found to be in possession of the blade in Basingstoke on May 1, 2020.
Pleading guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court earlier this week, the 39-year-old was fined £66, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34.
In a separate incident, 19-year-old Joshua Melfi was found with a black handled kitchen knife on June 28, 2019.
He was given a community order, where he must participate in 25 rehabilitation activity days.
The court heard that because the defendant was a juvenile at the time of the offence, the sentence should be akin to that he would have received at that age.
Additionally Melfi, of Westray Close, Oakridge, was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95.
A man from South Ham stole a car whilst high on cocaine and cannabis, a court has heard.
Raymond David Aitchison, of Paddock Road, took a Volkswagen on June 13, 2020, and crashed into a Volvo, damaging both cars.
When police attended Winchester Road, they found cannabis and cocaine in his blood.
Pleading guilty to the three charges at court last week, the 24-year-old was given an interim driving disqualification.
Magistrates requested a pre-sentence report, which will be heard at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on February 22.
A man is set to stand trial after being accused of damaging a police cell in Basingstoke.
Grant Harris Sunderland, of Paddock View in Littleton, allegedly broke the intercom system in a cell at Basingstoke police station on April 26, 2020.
He had been arrested after allegedly exposing his genitals at Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
Sunderland is further charged with assaulting Abdiwali Haji in Southampton on May 1 of last year.
The 46-year-old, who is also known as Relf Ollie, pleaded not guilty to both charges at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court earlier this week.
He will stand trial at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on August 16.
Two people have denied assaulting a man in Basingstoke.
Daniel Alexander Beagle and Charlotte Cooling-Beagle, both of Britannia Drive in Beggarwood, pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm earlier this week.
They are said to have assaulted Antony Coward in Basingstoke on July 12, 2020.
The pair, both aged 27, entered not guilty pleas and will appear at Winchester Crown Court on February 24.
A man has pleaded guilty to criminal damage.
Simon Ronald Beynon pleaded guilty to damaging a door in Pond Close, Overton, on Sunday, January 24.
He had been banned from attending that address by a domestic violence protection order, made less than one week earlier.
The 43-year-old, whose listed address is the care of a property in Broughton, was fined £50 for the breach of the order, and the case has been adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Beynon has been released on conditional bail, and must not enter Overton or contact the victim before his next date in court on February 22.
A man has been fined £160 after he was caught driving a motorcycle without a licence.
David Liam Westmoreland, of Shakespeare Road, was driving his Kawasaki motorcycle at Gastons Wood in Chineham on August 6, 2019, when he did not have a licence.
The court also heard that the 30-year-old had also been driving a Yamaha motorcycle in Basing View on September 10, 2019, when the tyres did not have a legal tread depth.
Westmoreland was fined a total of £160, and given six points on his licence.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and to pay costs of £50.
