ALMOST a quarter of a million doses of the Covid vaccine has been administered in Hampshire, data reveals.
The latest statistics released by the government shows that 227,399 doses have been given across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, as of January 24.
That is the fifth highest number in the country - only behind: Cumbria and North East; Greater Manchester; Cheshire and Merseyside; and West Yorkshire and Harrogate.
It includes 207,033 people who have received their first jab.
Of these, 90,490 people were aged 80 or over, which represents 85.1 per cent of the total population of the county over that age.
20,366 people have received their second dose of the vaccine.
In the last week, 60,982 doses were given in the county.
In North and Mid Hampshire, there are currently seven facilities giving Covid jabs.
The regions three hospitals - Basingstoke and North Hampshire, Andover War Memorial and Royal Hampshire County - are all hospital vaccination hubs, whilst Basingstoke Fire Station is a vaccination centre.
Additionally, Basingstoke's Hampshire Court Hotel, Andover's The Lights theatre and Winchester's Holiday Inn are all local vaccine services, being operated by primary care networks.
Nationally, over 7.4 million people were vaccinated as of Wednesday.Just
