Basingstoke man charged by police for burglary and fraud
HAMPSHIRE police have charged a man who stole a handbag in Basingstoke last month.
Benjamin Graham John, 47, of Attwood Close in Basingstoke, has been charged with burglary and fraud by misrepresentation.
The charges come after a handbag was stolen from an address on Lower Brook Street overnight between January 28 and January 29.
Bank cards that had been in the handbag were then used to buy items worth £40, attempts were made for two more purchases however the transactions were declined.
John has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Winchester Crown Court on 3 March.
