A MAN has been arrested following an attempted abduction of a toddler near Eastrop Park last week.
The incident happened at around 4pm on February 4, when a 25-year-old woman was walking with her two-year-old daughter in a pushchair and was approached by the unknown masked man.
He began speaking with the women, before trying to take the girl out of the pushchair.
Officers investigating the attempted abduction have now arrested a 51-year-old man from Basingstoke, on suspicion of trying to take a child.
He remains in custody.
