CORONAVIRUS cases across Basingstoke and Deane are continuing to fall, the latest statistics reveal.
The number of new cases recorded in the borough in the seven days to February 5 fell by just over 35 per cent compared to the week before.
The borough's rolling rate, the number of cases recorded per 100,000 of the population, is now lower than the UK average and also below the Hampshire average.
This includes in Kingsclere and Heath End, where less than three new Covid cases were recorded in the most recent period that data was available.
And in Tadley East, Pamber and Silchester, the rolling rate is now below 40.
However, case rates remain high in parts of the town.
Areas that have high case rates include: South Ham and West Ham; Woolton Hill, Burghclere and Bishops Green; Buckskin and Worting; Winklebury and Rooksdown; and Basingstoke Central, Black Dam and Eastrop.
The Woolton Hill area saw the largest increase in case, with 12 more cases there last week than the previous.
Popley, which was a hotspot for Covid in Basingstoke for months, saw the number of new cases decrease by almost two thirds, with Basingstoke Central also seeing a drop of almost a half.
The data is revealed by a government map that highlights each area based on the number of new Covid cases that were recorded there in the previous seven days.
It is broken down by Middle Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs), which are regions based on population rather than geography. They are generally smaller than council wards.
The interactive map allows users to input their postcode and see the latest data applicable to their area.
The data works six days late, meaning that the most recent data refers to the week up to Friday, February 5, 2021.
