Hampshire County Council has released a set of postcodes from where people have to undertake surge testing after a positive case of the mutant variant of Covid-19 was detected in the Bramley area, north of Basingstoke.
The test will be delivered in an envelope to people residing in these postcodes
The council said that they are working with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Public Health England (PHE) and the Department of Health and Social Care to organise a localised rapid testing programme.

The council also said the surge testing takes place in addition to existing extensive testing, and will help to monitor and suppress further spread of the virus. People aged over 16 living in targeted areas will be contacted and encouraged to take this additional test.
The test is free. It will be delivered to people residing in these postcodes. The envelope will contain a testing kit and a box. Details of the test will be included in the envelope.
Residents are advised not to their GPs as they will not have access to the results.
