The man who died at a Basingstoke building site has been named by friends as Scott Grimes.
Emergency services were called to Wiltshire Crescent, off Old Kempshott Lane, yesterday morning to reports of an incident.
The employee was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time later.
Today he has been identified as Scott Grimes, from Aldershot, with devastated friends creating an appeal to support his family through the sudden loss.
Writing on GoFundMe, Billy Davies put: “Scott was tragically taken from us on the morning of February 15 while at work.
“With the family’s blessing, we are asking for any donations to help cover funeral costs or anything that will help out the family going forward.
“In true Aldershot style, I know we will all come together as one like we have always done to show our love and support for an amazing man.
“Thoughts and love go out to everyone close to Scott at this incredibly sad time.”
Already, the appeal has broken through its £5,000 target with nearly 200 people helping to raise £7,858.
