A customer who was shopping at Sainsbury’s in Tadley when a car crashed into the store this afternoon said there was a massive bang.
She said emergency services were at the site quickly and the people were taken care of.
“I was in Sainsbury’s when it happened, there was a massive bang!”
“A car has driven into the front of Sainsbury’s to the right of the exit. Not sure how it happened but it took some bollards out and dented one of the main metal partition in the frame!
“Emergency services were there pretty quickly and the people were being looked after.”
Another person who was at Sainsbury’s at the time of the accident said she spent ten minutes with the person who was involved in the accident.
“I spent 10 minutes with the lady in the car holding her hand. Bless her. I hope they are okay.”
Another customer said she initially thought it was an explosion.
"I was there when it happened. Thought initially it was an explosion. Everyone screamed.
"Could hear a poor lady moaning and first aiders called. Didn’t dare look. I hope she’s ok poor thing."
Another customer said she thought a display had fallen over when she heard the loud bang.
“The noise was so loud. Really hope everybody is ok,” said another person.
The accident happened at around 2.40pm.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We received a call at 2.46pm today, Thursday 18 February from our colleagues at South Central Ambulance Service after a car had driven into the window of Sainsbury’s in Mulfords Hill. Two people were reported to have suffered minor injuries. The matter has been filed pending any further information. Inc 1164."
Hampshire Fire Control tweeted that at 3.07pm the fire service attended 'a road traffic collision in Mulfords Hill, Tadley involving one vehicle'.
