There are four areas under Basingstoke and Deane council that saw fewer than three Covid cases in the week leading to February 15, government data has revealed.
The ‘safe’ places are Overton & North Waltham, Tadley East, Pamber & Silchester, Kingsclere & Heath End, and East Oakley.
Rolling rates of these are not revealed to protect the identity of the infected people.
Meanwhile, South Ham & West Ham continue to be the area with highest rolling rate (205.2). It recorded 16 new cases over the same seven days. But the number of new cases in the new cases is down by two, compared to the previous week.
At 19, Winklebury & Rooksdown recorded the most number of new cases in Basingstoke and Deane during the same period. This is a rise from 17 in the previous week. However, because of the size of the area, its rolling rate is slightly less than South Ham & West Ham.
Due to the strict lockdown restrictions, cases continued to drop in most parts of Basingstoke and Deane council. Besides Winklebury & Rooksdown, only Daneshill & Little Basing, Whitchurch & Ashmansworth, Kempshott, Bramley and Sherfield & the Sherbornes saw more new cases than the previous week.
An interactive map on the government website shows just how many people have tested positive for the virus in each area of the county over the seven-day period up to February 15.
Public Health England breaks down the numbers of coronavirus cases into neighbourhoods called 'Middle Super Output Areas' (MSOAs), which are smaller than council wards and based on population rather than geographical area.
The interactive map allows users to type in their postcode and see how many cases were reported in their area and if it has increased or decreased from the week before. The darker the colour on the image, the more positive test results have been recorded.
The map highlights which areas of the nation have three or more confirmed cases of the virus and colour co-coordinates the areas by how many cases they have.
