ALDI has revealed the locations across the UK that are being eyed up as part of their expansion.
The budget supermarket chain is looking to expand its portfolio of supermarkets, following ‘sustained growth’.
Several locations in Hampshire were earmarked for potential new supermarkets by 2022.
The ideal location for the new stores will be in a central location with prominent main road frontage and strong pedestrian or traffic flow.
Aldi said: “We prefer to purchase freehold, town centre or edge of centre sites suitable for property development in towns with a population of 15,000 or more. We are willing to explore all opportunities including developer led schemes and existing or new retail units. Our yield profile is increasingly adding value to developments.”
The supermarket said stores typically create 30 jobs, meaning if all 18 locations were found then approximately 540 new jobs would be made available.
