A MAN has been acquitted of sexually abusing a teenager.
Sean James Edgar, from Winklebury, stood trial at Salisbury Crown Court last week after being accused of sexually abusing the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
The court had heard that the teenager was left with nightmares.
The complainant had told the court that it had taken her several months to gain the confidence to speak to anyone about what she said happened, or report it to the police.
But the jury returned a not guilty verdict on Friday.
Mr Edgar had maintained his innocence throughout, entering a not guilty plea at the first possible stage.
