The next phase of works has begun at Beggarwood Park, with a new BMX track set to be open by Easter.
As previously reported, the developer funded upgrades opened last autumn, with further work beginning earlier this week.
It will see a new BMX pump track constructed and a new wild zone nature trail that will open after the Easter holidays.
It will replace the old timber maze and encourage children to explore nature.
The scheme has been extended to incorporate 30 new fun facilities for children up to 12, which include climbing frames, ropes, swings and toddler rides.
Additionally, it has seen new benches, bins, better footpaths and improved landscaping.
Cabinet Member for planning, infrastructure and natural environment, Cllr Mark Ruffell, said: “I’m sure all the community will join me in welcoming these fantastic new facilities for Beggarwood Park visitors to enjoy.
“The new Wild Zone will not only be a fun place for young people to explore but also help them engage and get a better understanding of nature.
“We’re delighted to provide an upgraded pump track circuit for BMX and mountain bikers, skateboarders, rollerbladers and scooter riders to use.
“I hope this investment at Beggarwood Park will give local people great pleasure for many years to come.”
