WHEN you're gearing up for a long weekend, the last thing you need is to stress over changes to your weekly routine, including when to put your bin out.
Thankfully, there's no need to worry this bank holiday weekend, as Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has confirmed their will be no changes to usual collection services on Thursday (June 2) or Friday (June 3).
The council website states that residents should, as normal, put their bins out by 7am on their collection day.
Collections are between 7am and 6pm on the allocated day, after which any missed collections can be reported here.
However, ongoing delays to bin collections around the borough continue to be an issue, and the teams will also be working on Saturday (June 4) to try and catch up.
Posting to Twitter, a BDBC spokesperson said: "Some of our waste, recycling and garden waste collections are running behind due to our contractor Serco having staffing issues.
"The crews will be working both bank holidays (Thurs 2 June and Fri 3 June) and Sat 4 June. We expect them to be catching up with collections into next week. If your scheduled collection is on Thurs or Fri this week put your bin out and leave it out until the crew can get to you.
"If your road was due for collection this week but this has not yet happened, please leave your bin out and the crews will get to it as soon as they can."
