A 35-year-old former army medic has been charged with the murder of a woman who died after being found with “significant injuries”.
The victim, named as mother-of-two Emma McArthur, was found in Crookham Hill, Crookham Common, Thatcham, Berkshire, at 11.45pm on Thursday.
Christopher Minards, of Station Road, Thatcham, appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court on Monday (April 5).
He was remanded in custody after being charged with one count of murder and one count of being in possession of a knife in a public place.
The court was told that the victim Emma McArthur was aged 43 years and a mother-of-two children, MailOnline reports.
The defendant and the victim were in an 'off/on again' relationship after meeting on Facebook in June 2019, the court heard.
He is set to appear at Reading Crown Court today.
