LESS than two per cent of hospital staff have declined to have a Covid-19 vaccine according to figures from the trust that runs Basingstoke hospital.
A Freedom of Information request submitted to Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust shows that of the 8,490 staff offered a vaccine at Basingstoke, Winchester, and Andover hospitals, 160 declined to receive it representing 1.8 per cent.
Various reasons were given including staff being pregnant, allergies, having recently had Covid-19, and concerns about the vaccine.
Those who declined to have the vaccine because of recent infection or pregnancy, will be offered it again when “clinically appropriate”.
