A HAMPSHIRE rescue charity has hit a major milestone this week.
On Monday (April 19), Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance completed its 10,000th mission at a road traffic incident in Ringwood.
Posting on Twitter, the charity wrote: "We flew to our 10,000th mission yesterday. Captain Dave Nicholls, Dr Fran Dolman, HEMS Specialist Paramedic Mike Funge & HEMS Paramedic Nigel Harley responded to a RTC in Ringwood.
"Your support meant that we could be there for this patient in their hour of need, THANK YOU."
HIWAA was launched in 2007 and is available to assist with emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Air Ambulance Critical Care Team is called out many times a day to attend road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and many other incidents.
