A BASINGSTOKE vaccination centre has reached a milestone after administering 100,000 Covid jabs since opening in December.
The Hampshire Court Hotel in Chineham gave their 100,000th Covid vaccination yesterday (Thursday), crossing a significant milestone in its mission to make residents of Basingstoke region immune to the deadly virus.
Alison Barlow from Bramley was the lucky one to receive the milestone jab at the centre.
The 61-year-old got her AstraZeneca vaccine from Pat, one of the 400 staff working tirelessly at the vaccination centre.
“We are proud to achieve this milestone number,” said GP Tim Cooper, one of the family doctors who has been instrumental in setting up the clinic at the hotel.
“This is a great day. We have been working really hard over the past months, and it’s great to see people turning up for the vaccine.”
Having opened just before Christmas, The Hampshire Court Hotel was named one of the top five performing Covid-19 vaccination sites in the country in the last week of March, just after crossing the 50,000-vaccine mark.
The centre is supported by hundreds of nurses, other clinical colleagues, and administrative staff, from practices all across North Hampshire. They have been supported by an army of volunteers, including the Rotary Club and BVA.
The clinic is serving not just Basingstoke residents, but patients from all of North Hampshire.
