BASINGSTOKE Town Football Club is joining a boycott against social media this weekend in a unified stand against racism and discrimination.
The football-led campaign which will see a blackout of social media channels began at 3pm on Friday and is set to last until 11.59pm on Monday night, with various sports taking part in a stand against online abuse.

The action was launched by English football’s governing bodies with many suspending the use of their social media accounts throughout the weekend.
Prince William has also backed the protest, posting on Twitter: “As President of the FA I join the entire football community in the social media boycott this weekend.”
Posting on Twitter on Friday, Basingstoke Town Football Club said: “Enough is enough: United in fighting online hate”.
