TRAFFIC is building up near Basingstoke this bank holiday Monday, as the weather conditions take a turn for the worse.
Queues along the M3 northbound at Junction 8 at around 5.50pm this evening saw cars crawling along at 10mph.
However, there were no apparent signs of any road traffic incidents.
It comes as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning for wind in Basingstoke.
"A spell of disruptive winds" is set to continue throughout the night and into the early hours of tomorrow (Tuesday, May 4), ending at 9am.
Road and rail delays can be expected, and damage such as fallen trees is likely so drivers are warned to take care particularly in exposed areas.
The warning covers the entirety of southern England and Wales.
