THE charity responsible for a bail hostel in South Ham, connected to a double stabbing incident last week, has confirmed it is helping police with their investigation.
Police were called to St Peter’s Road on Monday afternoon (April 26) to reports that two people had been injured.
A 28-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were located with stab wounds and taken to hospital, however their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, but later released under investigation.
Police cordoned off a section of the road between Margaret Road and St Nicholas Court, and could be seen searching a property known to be a bail hostel facility run by the charity Nacro.
The Gazette asked Nacro to confirm whether they were aware of the incident, and the connection between the events and the hostels occupants, as well as to outline any measures being taken by them to provide support and reassurance to the South Ham community.
A Nacro spokesperson responded: “We are aware of the ongoing investigation into the incident and will help the police with their inquiries wherever possible."
Police investigation into the incident continues, and officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or have CCTV or other footage.
A spokesperson said: "Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you have CCTV or dash cam footage that could help our investigation?
"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has footage showing a boy in a grey tracksuit riding an e-scooter."
