BASINGSTOKE will be getting a new vaccination centre, the area's Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has confirmed.
Jameson House in Chineham will be joining Hampshire Court Hotel, Basingstoke Fire station, and other sites to help deliver the coronavirus vaccine to more residents.
However, when the Gazette asked if it would be replacing the hotel centre - which recently celebrated delivering its 100,00th dose - when hotels can reopen on May 17, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Partnership of CCGs said the site would remain as a vaccination hub for the 'foreseeable future'.
Dr Tim Cooper, GP and vaccination lead for North Hampshire said: “As the vaccine roll out progresses, it is important that we maintain the ability to increase vaccination delivery to our local population.
“The Hampshire Court Hotel has been a hugely successful site and will continue to deliver vaccinations for the foreseeable future. We are actively bringing on other sites to continue the successful roll out of vaccine to our population, particularly as we start to deliver vaccines to groups 10-12.
“Jameson House will be joining our other successful local sites, such as the fire station, Superdrug in Basingstoke and Boots in Alton.”
It has not yet been confirmed when the new building will begin booking appointments.
Jameson House is an office building run by the company Absolutely Offices and has been operating as the 'workspace' hot-desking office space since the pandemic.
A spokeswoman for Absolutely Offices said: "We are delighted to be part of the facilitation of the vaccine roll-out in Basingstoke."
