A NEW flooring store has opened up in Basingstoke, creating four new jobs for the local economy.
Flooring Superstore has invested £150,000 with the opening of a 5,622 square feet outlet at Basingstoke Trade Park on Worting Road.
Flooring Superstore Regional manager Ian Robinson said: “We’re delighted to have been able to open the doors to shoppers in Basingstoke and based on the first few weeks, it was definitely the right decision. Footfall has been excellent and it’s clear that people have been waiting for stores like ours to open so they can undertake home improvements."
“A recent survey revealed that 59% of people have made changes to their home during the pandemic and this is set to continue with uncertainty around holidays and possible future lockdowns.”
Flooring Superstore’s strategy in 2021 involves opening at least 25 stores, with large towns and cities being targeted for locations.
Ian said: “We’re keen to make our own contribution to the UK economy, both locally and nationally, so opening stores in locations such as Basingstoke will play a major part in this."
The shop sells a variety of flooring options from carpets, vinyl, laminate, real wood to artificial grass.
The company is looking for Basingstoke community projects to make donations to. Organisations can Email requests to marketing@connectionretail.co.uk.
