STAFF and patients at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) have been celebrating International Nurses’ Day 2021.
The trust - which runs the hospital in Basingstoke, as well as Andover and Winchester - posted pictures on social media of the team marking the day on Wednesday (May 12), with cakes, balloons, bunting and more.
Posting on Twitter, they wrote: “It has been so lovely to see so many wards celebrating #InternationalNursesDay2021 with bunting, games and even cake.”
International Nurses’ Day has been held across the world on May 12 each year since 1965.
It is celebrated to mark the amazing contribution of nurses and other medical staff to our societies, and is arguably particularly poignant during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which has seen nurses go above and beyond.
