A school in Basingstoke has raised money for an Andover-based charity.
The fund was raised for The Macular Society.
Great Binfield Primary School on Binfields Farm Lane in Chineham had a non-uniform day with a theme of yellow, and staff held a raffle to raise funds for the charity.
The school chose to support the charity as one of their pupils, George, is affected by a Macular disease called Stargardts.
The disease will progressively affect his central vision, making it difficult for him to find his friends on the playground or to read his school work.
George, 8, is learning braille at the school. The Macular society do works in the area of research to develop cures and treatments.
The school staff hope funds raised by the charity will hopefully one day provide treatment for children like George, who are affected by this disease.
