A NORTH Hampshire school has dug-up a 25-year-old time capsule.
Last week, Buryfields Infants School in Odiham excavated the capsule, first buried in 1996, and replaced it with a new one.
Children worked in the classes to decide on items to put in the new time capsule, and also helped the excavation process.
Each child contributed to a class piece of work as well as being involved in what might be exciting to put in, with the Covid pandemic providing a time-specific feature that will be looked back on in a quarter of a century time.
Past teachers and pupils were also able to attend.
Lauren English, headteacher, said: “We feel very lucky to have past pupils and staff who have come back and shared their memories with the children.
"It was a really rewarding learning experience.”
Meanwhile, one year 2 pupil said: "“I liked it when we got to see all of the artefacts in the time capsule that we dug up. The lunchbox that we discovered was a different shape and rather funny!”
