Police are standing guard in South Ham this morning following an incident last night.
Armed police swooped in on the park off Dibley Close just after 9.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday following unconfirmed reports of a suspected shooting.
Witnesses reported seeing officers combing the area and condoning off the park.
At the scene this morning, officers could not confirm details of the incident.
It is thought there is no threat to the wider public.
The Gazette has contacted Hampshire Constabulary for further information.
