POLICE have said that the cause of a fire at the Camrose football stadium this week is 'unclear' after they carried out searches of four men in relation to the incident.
Officers were called to the scene of the Western Way stadium at 7.39pm on Wednesday, June 2, where there was a "small fire" in the seating area.
Firefighters had extinguished the flames with buckets of water, but stated that arson was suspected due to the use of an accelerant to start the blaze.
However, searches of four men carried out by police were to no avail.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson told the Gazette: "The fire was a small fire on one of the seats, and it's cause was doubtful.
"Officers detained four men, aged between 18 and 21-years-old, for a search under Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
"The search was negative and the men were released."
Anyone with information should contact police by phoning 101 with reference 44210215132.
