PROBLEMS with water pressure for residents in Brighton Hill were caused by a technical problem involving an underground valve.
As previously reported, various areas of Brighton Hill had low water pressure or no water at all on Sunday, with some experiencing problems for more than six hours.
Now, South East Water’s regional network manager, Robert Anthony-Scorse has explained the problem resulted from a valve on the underground water pipe network.
He apologised to customers affected, including those in Porter Road, following reports from eight households who had no water or low tap water pressure.
He added: “Our specialist technicians quickly rerouted water around our network to restore water supplies to customers.
“Once again I’m very sorry for the disruption caused and would like to thank residents for their patience while we fixed the faulty valve.
“Customers can register for updates on the water supply in their area using our interactive map: https://inyourarea.digdat.co.uk/southeastwater”
