TWO GP surgeries in Basingstoke will be offering walk-in Covid vaccinations for any adult that has not already had their first dose.
Today, Monday, Gillies Health Centre in Brighton Hill will be offering walk-in appointments between 9am-1pm and 2pm-6pm.
Then tomorrow, Tuesday, Shakespeare Road Medical Practice in Popley will offer the walk-in clinic between 2.30pm-6.30pm.
They will join Jameson House in Chineham, which will be running the walk-in clinic from 9am-5pm on Monday and Tuesday in not requiring residents to book a slot to get a jab.
Residents are only eligible to attend the walk-in clinics if they have not yet had a first dose and are over 18. These clinics will not administer second doses and patients should book in the normal way.
Patients are also able to attend the clinics at Gillies or Shakespeare Road whether they are registered at those surgeries or another of the town's practices.
The clinical director at Basingstoke's vaccination sites, Dr Tim Cooper, said: "As we move towards a hopeful end of restrictions in mid July its more important than ever to ensure we are vaccinated to keep us and our communities safe.
"We have a vaccine available for everyone and we want to make sure everyone has easy access to this.
"For the next week we will be coming out to our practices to offer walk in vaccinations for first covid vaccinations alongside our site at Jameson House.
"No appointment is necessary, and it is available to everyone over the age of 18 for their first covid vaccine.
"Vaccines keep all of us from becoming severely unwell and help stop us spreading COVID19 further. It’s our best shot at having a summer of fun."
The two GP surgeries join Jameson House, Basingstoke Fire Station and Superdrug as the town's Covid vaccination sites.
Last month, the Hampshire Court Hotel closed as a vaccine site after being open for six months since the start of the rollout.
Appointments at the fire station and Superdrug will not be affected by these walk-in clinics.
