THREE GP surgeries will be offering walk-in Covid vaccinations next week for any adult that has not already had their first dose.
NHS England’s new ‘Grab a Jab’ scheme has seen hundreds of sites open across the country where anyone aged 18 or over can turn up to have a vaccine without an appointment.
The NHS has now announced when and where in Basingstoke walk-in vaccinations will be available next week.
Residents are eligible to attend the walk-in clinics if they have not yet had a first dose of vaccine and are aged 18 or over. The clinics will not administer second doses and patients should book these in the normal way.
Dr Tim Cooper, clinical director at Basingstoke’s vaccination sites, said: “"As we move towards a hopeful end of restrictions in mid-July its more important than ever to ensure we are vaccinated to keep us and our communities safe.
"We have a vaccine available for everyone and we want to make sure everyone has easy access to this.
"For the next week we will be coming out to our practices to offer walk in vaccinations for first covid vaccinations alongside our site at Jameson House.
"No appointment is necessary, and it is available to everyone over the age of 18 for their first covid vaccine.
"Vaccines keep all of us from becoming severely unwell and help stop us spreading Covid-19 further. It’s our best shot at having a summer of fun."
