A GIRL was taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a Basingstoke primary school yesterday.
The 10-year-old was taken to Basingstoke hospital after the incident outside Castle Hill Primary School on Winklebury Way shortly after 3pm on July 12.
An adult was also treated by ambulance crews.
Hampshire Constabulary say that a car left the road and collided with the pedestrians, who were on the pavement.
Police have also confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary added: "We were called at 3.07pm on Monday, 12 July to reports of collision on Winklebury Way, Basingstoke.
"A car had come off the road and been in collision with a 10-year-old child and an adult who were on the pavement.
"The ambulance service attended the scene. The matter is under investigation."
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said on Tuesday: "We were called yesterday at 15:04 to reports of a child who’d been hit by a car on Winklebury Way.
"We sent to the scene two ambulance crews who were assessing and treating one patient.
"Following treatment at the scene by both our crews the patient was taken to North Hampshire Hospital."
