The monthly theme for Basingstoke Gazette Camera Club was #Bikes – an opportunity for the members to explore something outside their comfort zones of nature photography.
And they did not disappoint.
Members of the group shared photos of bicycles and motorbikes, celebrating the beauty of two-wheelers and the role they play in our lives.
Sharing a photo of her bike, Tricia Smith explained what that two-wheeler means to her.
She wrote: “Back in 1985 I cycled the London to Brighton on this Claud Butler bike.
“I’ve finally passed it on for someone else to ride and enjoy. I hadn’t ridden it since I moved to Basingstoke in 1994 despite new tires and a full service several times. Sarum Hill is fine going downhill but not uphill.”
Similarly, Pug Halliday and Colin Edwards also shared photos of their bikes.
The best picture from the theme was submitted by Mike Alamar. The silhouette image of a cyclist in sunset was quite stunning.
Unfortunately, we could not include all the photos submitted due to space constraints.
Do not be disappointed if your photo is not included in this month’s selection of photos. The theme for next month will be announced in the group soon.
It is free and easy to join the camera club. Simply search Basingstoke Gazette Camera Club on Facebook and click to join.
There will be a monthly theme for the club. The best photos from the theme will be published at the end of the month, while a stunning click from each week will be published in our letters page.
