IT WAS national bacon lovers day yesterday (August 20). To mark the ‘special’ day, we asked our readers on Facebook which are their favourite breakfast places in Basingstoke.
To our surprise, the results were pretty lopsided, with four places in the town garnering most votes.
The four names that have been picked by our readers as the best places to get breakfast are The Poppins Cafe & Restaurant in Market Place, Mr Munch in Town Centre, Charlie’s Café in Roentgen Road and Wimpy in Festival Place.

One reader picked three of the four names, adding it’s usually a lucky dip for her. She wrote: “Charlie's cafe, Wimpy or Mr. Munch [for me]. Morrisons is also nice. It's a lucky dip as to what you will end up with though.”
Another reader picked Wickes for a food van and Poppins for an eat-in.
