THE inquests have opened today into the deaths of three drivers killed in a collision on the A303.
Two of them had stopped to help a third who had broken down on the westbound dual carriageway near Andover on August 25, the hearing in Winchester heard. They were struck by a lorry.
Tina Rose Ince, 58, of Lydgate Street, Southampton, died of severe multiple injuries, said consultant pathologist Dr Adnan Al-Badri who conducted post mortems at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
He reported that Alex Britton, 28, of Fifth Avenue, Portsmouth, and Tom Watson, 30, of Cheriton Avenue, died of severe head injuries.
Ms Ince and Mr Watson had parked by the road to try to assist Ms Britton, said area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp.
Police arrested a 38-year old lorry driver from Shropshire on suspicion of drug driving and causing death by dangerous driving.
The inquests were adjourned to be held in Winchester on January 21 2022.
