A MAN has been given a suspended prison sentence after he was found driving whilst disqualified.
Jonathon Martin Marney admitted being behind the wheel of a Seat Ibiza at The Queens College Arms on Aldermaston Road in Pamber End on September 2.
At the time, the 33-year-old was banned from driving.
Marney, whose address is listed in court documents as the care of a property on Robins Meadow in Evesham, was given a four month prison sentence, which was suspended for a year.
Court documents show this was because the offence was “so serious” and of “[continued] offending in the same manner”.
He was further banned from driving for three years, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £128 victim surcharge.
Marney also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance, and was given no separate penalty.
A SOUTH Ham man must undertake community service after assaulting a police officer.
Maurice Patrick Bradbury, of Bolton Crescent, admitted assaulting Daniel Tompkins whilst he was exercising his duties in Basingstoke on May 10, 2020.
He had previously denied the charged and elected a summary trial by magistrates, but changed his plea to guilty when appearing before Basingstoke Magistrate’s Court last week.
The 36-year-old also pleaded guilty to drink driving at West Ham roundabout on the same day as this offence.
He had 123 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath whilst behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf, above the legal limit of 35.
Magistrates gave Bradbury a community order, which will see him take part in 15 days of the thinking skills rehabilitation programme, as well as 200 hours of unpaid work in the next year.
He must also pay £30 in costs and a victim surcharge of £95.
Bradbury was banned from driving for three years.
A BASINGSTOKE man has admitted failing to stop after being involved in a crash.
Giovanni Bigan, of Skippetts Gardens, admitted driving a vehicle that failed to stop after an accident with a red BMW on Grove Road on November 30, 2020.
His case was adjourned due to a lack of court time and he will appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on September 21.
A MAN has appeared in court charged with stealing more than £1,500 of CBD.
Damien Andrew Hamer is accused of the theft of £544.92 of CBD products from Holland and Barret in Aldershot on May 26, and then £1,014.76 on June 15.
He’s also charged with the theft of a £379 television at Lidl on June 11, £36 of food from Iceland on June 4, £637.73 of Glucosamine from Holland an Barrett on May 31 and £218.41 of washing detergent, air fresheners and razors from Bargain Buys between June 29 and 30
The total value of products he’s charged with stealing is £2,830.82.
The 41-year-old, of Victoria Road in Aldershot, has not entered pleas to the charges.
His case was adjourned at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, and he will appear before the same court on October 11. He has been released on unconditional bail.
A WOMAN caught speeding in Hook has been fined.
Faridah Naiga, of Gardenia Avenue in Luton, was behind the wheel of a Ford on the A30 London Road whilst travelling above the speed limit of 40 miles per hour.
The offence happened on October 8, 2020.
The 38-year-old, who admitted the charge last week, was fined £66 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge.
She was also given three points on her licence.
