Police have arrested a man from Basingstoke after a serious assault left a victim in hospital.

Hampshire Constabulary launched a public appeal last week to trace a suspect after the incident in Haydn Road, Brighton Hill, shortly after midnight on Saturday, September 18.

A man in his 30s suffered a head injury in the assault and was taken to hospital for treatment.

This morning (Wednesday, September 29), officers have confirmed that a 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
