• A GANG member has been discharged after he resisted two police officers.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, resisted officers Jason Coomber and Helen Castle in the execution of their duties in Basingstoke on August 29.

The 17-year-old is a member of the Basingstoke Street Gang, who were banned from meeting each other by a gang injunction sought by Hampshire Constabulary at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court in March this year.

For these offences, which the boy from Popley pleaded guilty to at court last week, he was conditionally discharged for 12 months. This means he will face no further action should he commit no further offences during this time.

Court documents show that magistrates took into account the boy’s guilty plea, as well as that he was already subject to court orders and that he was currently in custody.

A third offence of resisting Zoe Gibson in the execution of her duty was withdrawn at court.

  • A WARRANT was issued for a man who caused almost £800 of damage to bollards in Basingstoke.

Paul Charles Lucas, of St Peter’s Road, is charged with damaging bollards to the value of £783.02 in the town on July 4, 2020.

They belonged to Hampshire Highways.

He was due to appear in court on Thursday last week, but court documents show a warrant was issued for his arrest.

  • TWO men have been fined after they were found dumping a mattress in Basingstoke.

Gabriel Fincatti Gianetti, 19, and Ricardo Gianetti, 44, were spotted fly-tipping the large double mattress at the recycling site in Abbey Road, Popley, on February 20 from the back of a Mitsubishi ASX.

The pair appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week charged with depositing controlled waste without a permit in a case brought by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Gabriel, of Carcaixent Square, Newbury, was fined £615 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £61, whilst Ricardo, of Abbey Road, Basingstoke, was fined £800 and ordered to pay a victim surcharged of £80.

Both were also told to pay compensation of £97.50 and court costs of £200.

  • A MAN who was accused of assault has been cleared after a trial.

Eric Ryan Jones, of Western Way, had been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm after an incident on November 21, 2020.

The 24-year-old had denied the charge at a hearing in April, but after a trial at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court last week, magistrates found him not guilty.

They dismissed the case and ordered his personal expenses be covered by a central fund.

  • A TEENAGER was caught riding a motorbike without insurance or a licence.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was spotted driving the Urban DZ125 on Worting Road on February 27.

He was also not wearing protective headgear at the time.

The 17-year-old, from the Marnel Park area, has been referred to the Hampshire youth offender panel, where a six-month contract will be drawn up.

He must also pay costs of £45 and a £22 victim surcharge.

  • A BASINGSTOKE woman has been given a fine after she assaulted a man and damaged his Playstation.

Nichola Button, of Pinkerton Road, assaulted the man and damaged the console in Basingstoke on April 16.

She was ordered to take part in 20 days of rehabilitation activities after admitting the charges last week.

The 24-year-old must also pay a £120 fine and £180 total costs.
