A TEENAGER from Basingstoke had a successful campaign at the English Junior Squash Championships that took place in Nottingham last weekend.
Megan Light, 14, came runner-up in the girls under 15s after making it through the rounds.
The Basingstoke resident gained a place in the final on Sunday. She played a great match against her friend and teammate from Lancashire Charlie Mccrone, 14.
Megan lost the match 9-11, 7-11, 7-11, but secured her place on the podium, finishing in silver medal position.
The tournament saw 300 children from across England participating across five age groups, split into boys and girls.
The juniors were presented with their trophies by world number 28 Declan James.
Many Hampshire juniors competed in the event, and as a county they secured four golds, one silver and a Bronze.
Tim Vail was the coach for Hampshire players.
