FIREWORKS are sure to be the order of the day as the Basingstoke Bison take on their visiting arch rivals the Bees today (Saturday 6.30pm).

This is the first league meeting between these sides, but the Bees came up on top in the Autumn Cup clash in Slough last month, so the Herd will be out for revenge.

The Herd come into the game on the back of a four game losing streak, their last two losses being against Sheffield last weekend.

Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: “On Saturday, we made a couple of errors which cost us goals and then on Sunday we were leading but gave up too quick goals.

“I think we now have to stop making so many fundamental errors. We are only in week four and we are already looking at what are must win games this weekend.”

On Sunday (5.30pm) the Bison are on the road to the bottom of the table Peterborough Phantoms.

The Herd will once again be without injured British forward Alex Sampford this weekend.

In Basingstoke on Sunday, the under-12 Bison take on Guildford from 4.30pm and then from 6.30pm the under-16 Bison face Swindon.

Last Sunday, the Buffalo suffered a 7-6 penalty shoot-out loss at the Bristol Pitbulls.

William Birch led the scoring with a hat-trick, while Neil Leary, Sam Brooks and Sam Dollin also found the net. There were two assists for Scott Anda and Sam Compton and one each for Josh Richards, Cam Buckle, Warren Jones and Travis Penny.
