One car veered down the embankment of the ring road late last night.
The car left the Ringway North, which runs between Trumpet roundabout near the hospital and the junction with the A33, shortly after 11pm.
Firefighters were asked to attend the scene with reports of the occupants of the car being trapped in the car. But when the crews from Basingstoke fire station arrived at the scene, they had left, a spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said.
The spokesperson could not confirm what make the car was, or where exactly the crash happened, but did tell The Gazette that only one car was involved.
Fire crews handed the scene over to Hampshire Constabulary and left the scene at 11.47pm.
The police have been contacted for further information.
