A FURTHER four Basingstoke pubs have been acclaimed for the quality of their real ale.
The Queens Arms in Bunnian Place, The New Inn in Sarum Hill, The Wheatsheaf on Winchester Street and Basingstoke Sports and Social Club on Fairfields Road have now been confirmed to be listed in the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide 2022, the UK’s best-selling beer pub guide.
The Gazette had reported last week that two Wetherspoon pubs in Basingstoke – The Maidenhead Inn in Winchester Street and The Angel in Festival Place – have been listed in the CAMRA guide for the quality of their real ale.
The guide is now on sale online and in bookshops.
A CAMRA spokesman said: “The pubs deserve their place in the Good Beer Guide 2022.
“It is our belief that if a licensee serves an excellent pint of real ale, then everything else in the pub, including customer service, quality of food and atmosphere, are likely to be of an equally high standard.”
