TWO walk-in vaccination sites will be set up in the Basingstoke area next week, offering more than 15,000 extra doses.
The sites, at Gillies Health Centre and Hook Community Centre, will offer walk-in booster Covid jabs to over 18s, between 9am and 5pm across four days next week.
It comes as the vaccination programme ramps up as health bosses look to get everyone a booster jab by the end of the year.
The two surge clinics are in addition to bookable appointments at Jameson House, and will bolster an increased capacity brought about by the reopening of the Hampshire Court Hotel vaccine centre on Sunday.
Dr Tim Cooper, clinical lead for the North Hampshire vaccine rollout, said: "Once again our army of volunteers step forward to support our practices to increase again the number of vaccinations offered in North Hampshire.
"We know boosters are the key to staying safe from the new threat from Omicron and these extra clinics will deliver us over 15,000 extra doses in the run up to Christmas."
The two pop-up sites, at Gillies Health Centre in Brighton Hill and Hook Community Centre, will be open from Monday, December 20 to Thursday, December 23.
No appointment is necessary, and you can just walk-in to get a booster jab if it has been three months since your second dose.
You must be aged 18 or over, because both sites will only be giving Moderna vaccines.
Dr Cooper also asked residents not to attend the walk-in sites if they have an appointment booked before December 31.
He added: "Please do not attend one of our walk in clinics if you already have an appointment booked before the 31/12/21, or if you do please ensure you cancel your appointment.
"We need to make sure we offer as many opportunities for protection to our patients.
"We want to thank our patients for their understanding during what is an incredibly challenging time for our NHS.”
Residents are also able to book vaccine appointments at Basingstoke hospital, which opened a 'hospital hub plus' site today to help the booster programme.
