A WOMAN required three stitches after an alleged assault outside The Malls in Basingstoke on Christmas Eve.
The incident happened between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Friday, December 24, when a woman in her 50s was allegedly assaulted on Alencon Link in the town centre.
She sustained an injury to her head and required three stitches and Hampshire Police are now appealing for witnesses.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police, said: “We are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of an assault outside The Malls in Basingstoke on Christmas Eve.
“Between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Friday 24 December, a woman in her 50s was assaulted on Alencon Link in the town centre.
“She sustained an injury to her head and required three stitches.
“A 25-year-old woman, from Basingstoke, has been arrested on suspicion of wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
“She has been bailed until Friday 21 January.
“Officers are now appealing for witnesses to help with the investigation.
“Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness the incident?
“Do you have any dash-cam footage or CCTV images that could help the investigation?

A 25-year-old woman, from Basingstoke, has been arrested on suspicion of wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
