The Basingstoke Bison will look to bounce back to winning ways, after two losses last weekend, writes Graham Merry.
First up is a home clash with league leaders the Telford Tigers on Saturday night (6.30pm) followed by a trip to face the Leeds Knights on Sunday (5.15pm).
The Bison are hoping to welcome back defencemen Adam Jones and Ollie Stone this weekend.
This is Telford’s first visit to Basingstoke this season, but it is the fourth encounter overall.
The first one in Shropshire saw a Herd win, but Telford won the next two on home ice, the last one being a narrow 4-3 victory in November.
The Bison have yet to beat Leeds this campaign, but the last two games saw the Knights win only by the odd goal.
Basingstoke Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: “I never worry when we play the top teams in our league as we always seem to raise our game. It is sides around and below us that we seem to struggle with.
He added: “The last two games against Leeds were the best we played all season and we got nothing for it. Hopefully we can play as well again and this time get what we deserve.”
On Sunday night (6.30pm) in Basingstoke, the under-18 Bison host Peterborough.
